Breeders Who Supported Oscar Performance Get Discount

Strong performances from the first crop of four-time grade 1 winner Oscar Performance   has allowed Mill Ridge Farm to raise his stud fee to next year to $20,000 from his 2022 fee of $12,500, except for the breeders who have supported the stallion since he entered stud in 2019. Those breeders are getting a discount, the farm announced Nov. 9

Shareholders and breeders' who supported the 8-year-old son of the late leading sire Kitten's Joy will pay $17,500.

"We are so appreciative to the Amermans for giving Mill Ridge the opportunity with Oscar Performance and to the shareholders and breeders who have supported him all four years. He is off to a great start at stud with his 2-year-olds, and we all look forward to his future. In the next few days, we will share more on our new stallion, Aloha West  ," said Price Bell, general manager of Mill Ridge Farm.

John and Jerry Amerman bred and raced Oscar Performance, who won eight of 15 career starts from 2 to 4, including seven graded stakes wins, and earned $2,345,696.

Oscar Performance is a top 10 freshman sire by progeny earnings as of Nov. 9 and was represented in the recent Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf (G1T) by grade 2 winner Andthewinneris . He has three other graded-placed winners with G Laurie , Lachaise , and Deer District . He is the fourth-leading freshman sire by percentage of winners from foals at 20%.
