

The Tattersalls Online December Sale has attracted a diverse catalog of 74 entries for the final online auction of 2022 to be held on the platform. The sale includes a collection of breeding rights, broodmares, yearlings, a single foal, and a stallion share in group 1-producing sire Almanzor . The catalog also features 40 horses in and out of training, as well as mares in foal to popular stallions, including Havana Grey and Ardad .
A feature highlight of the catalog is a breeding right to Whitsbury Manor Stud's brilliant young sire Havana Grey. A stallion in high demand, Havana Grey is the sire of 13 group/listed performers in his first crop with the group winners Rumstar , Eddie's Boy , and Lady Hollywood amongst his 43 individual winners. Breeding rights are also offered in exciting young stallions Cracksman , Profitable , Territories , and the now French-based Ribchester who will form part of the Darley roster at Haras du Logis in 2023.
A stallion share in champion 3-year-old Almanzor provides another attractive opportunity for breeders. Standing at Haras d'Etreham in France, the sire enjoyed a successful season highlighted by Manzoice winning the Penfolds Victoria Derby (G1) and boasts 13 group/listed performers to date. He will stand for a fee of €25,000 (US$26,225) in 2023.

An exciting wildcard addition to the sale is the young broodmare Sophie, a half sister to this year's QIPCO One Thousand Guineas (G1) winner Cachet . The daughter of Farhh is offered in foal to Aclaim , carrying a three-quarter sibling to the classic winner. French trainer Jerome Reynier, who sold highly-rated listed performer Royal Robbins for 105,000 guineas ($134,160) to Australian interests in the Tattersalls Online November Sale, presents group 3 winner National Service . The 5-year-old son of Elusive City has earned just over €100,000 ($128,765) in prizemoney and is qualified for French Premiums.
Barry Fitzgerald's Old Leighlin House Stables will offer Whispering Royal, an impressive debut 2-year-old winner. The son of Gustav Klimt is out of a full sister to champion miler in Hong Kong and group 1 winner in Japan Bullish Luck. Another debut winner to be offered is the Hugo Merienne-trained Media Naranja, the 3-year-old filly by highly sought-after National Hunt sire Yeats who put up a dominant performance Dec. 4 to post an eight-length victory at Craon.
The catalog has attracted drafts from top consignors Barton Sales, Blue Diamond Stud, Castlefarm Stud, Jamie Railton, Simmonstown Stud, Silfield Bloodstock, Voute Sales, and Mickley Stud as well as entries from trainers, including Tim Easterby, Richard Fahey, Alice Haynes, Gordon Elliott, Denis Hogan, William Haggas, Ado McGuinness, and Archie Watson.
