Bridlewood Farm announced the death of stallion manager Saul Rosas in a social media post Dec. 15.

"It is with heavy hearts we have to say that Bridlewood has lost a treasured icon with the passing of our stallion manager Saul Rosas," the farm tweeted. "He was a true horseman who worked with us for 42 years."

The post continued with Bridlewood general manager George Isaacs saying, "Bridlewood has lost its favorite son today."

In addition to his role at Bridlewood, Rosas was also the breeder of record of some Florida-bred horses. He bred stakes-placed winner Back to Gold  out of the winning Sejm daughter I See Gold, who produced two other winners for Rosas—I See Back  (by Put It Back) and I See Mambo  (by Black Mambo). Back to Gold was second in the Turfway Prevue Stakes on his way to earning $136,829. Rosas also bred non-black-type stakes-placed winner My Jealous , who won seven of 20 starts and earned $125,056
