

A stallion season auction benefiting Washington Thoroughbred Breeders and Owners Association incentive programs is underway and will end Dec. 22 at 8 p.m. PT/11 p.m. ET.
The auction is offering 93 seasons to 85 stallions that are standing in eight states and Alberta, Canada. Of the stallions represented, 46 stand in Kentucky, 21 stand in California, and five each in Washington and Oregon.
Several bonuses are offered. A $1,000 Tier 1 Bidder Bonus puts all winning bidders into a drawing to receive a bonus in the amount of 50% of their final bid up to a maximum of $1,000 to be applied toward their bid amount. Another $400 Tier 2 Bidder Bonus puts all other bidders into a drawing to receive a bonus in the amount of 50% of their bid up to a maximum of $400 to be applied toward a stallion season that did not sell during the main auction.
To stallion owners, a $5,000 Tier 1 Stallion Season Auction Bonus puts the stallions with the top eight highest-priced seasons into a drawing for a bonus equal to 50% of the final season bid amount up to $5,000. A $1,000 Tier 2 Stallion Season Auction Bonus puts all other stallions whose seasons sell into a drawing for a bonus equal to 50% of the final season-bid amount up to $1,000. Both drawings will be held during Washington Annual Awards Banquet Feb. 25.
