Recruiter wins the postponed Parx Juvenile at Parx Racing

Lynch Racing and Nick Sanna Stables' Recruiter  registered his fourth victory in as many starts in the $75,000 Parx Juvenile Jan. 3. The Cal Lynch trainee came from just off the pace, completing seven furlongs under Mychel Sanchez on a sloppy track in 1:26.75.

His time was just over a second faster than the winning clocking (1:27.78) from Swilcan Stable and LC Racing's Girl Trouble  a half-hour later in the Parx Futurity for 3-year-old fillies. Both races were initially scheduled for late last month at Parx Racing before harsh winter weather forced their postponement until yesterday.

The winner's purse of $43,200 improved Recruiter's earnings to $170,100. The Parx Juvenile was his second black-type victory in his longest race to date.

Recruiter is a son of Hill 'n' Dale Farms' stallion Army Mule  , who retired unbeaten after three victories, one of which came in the 2018 Carter Handicap (G1) at seven furlongs. Bred in Florida by Beth Bayer, Recruiter is the first stakes winner produced by the Medaglia d'Oro   mare Lady Halite , who has one other winner from six foals. Among her progeny are a just-turned-2-year-old filly by Maximus Mischief   and a yearling colt by Complexity  .

Recruiter was a $125,000 purchase by Legion Bloodstock, as agent for Lynch, at the 2022 June Two-Year-Olds and Horses of Racing Age from the Wavertree Stables consignment.
