Dual stakes winner and graded-placed Coach , who participated in the 2021 Kentucky Oaks (G1), where she ran ninth at Churchill Downs, has been retired from racing by owner Rick Kueber.

The Brad Cox-trained 5-year-old daughter of Commissioner  compiled a 5-3-2 record and earned $466,565 in 15 starts for Kueber Racing. She ran third in the 2020 Golden Rod Stakes (G2) and 2021 Fantasy Stakes (G3).

Withdrawn from the ongoing Keeneland January Horses of All Ages Sale, she ran below expectations by finishing eighth Jan. 7 when seeking to win the Pippin Stakes at Oaklawn Park for the second consecutive year.

Upcoming plans for Coach are to be determined, with Kueber saying Jan. 11 he is weighing whether to accept one of several private offers made to acquire her or breed Coach this year to Gun Runner  .

Kueber, a former partner with college basketball coach Rick Pitino's Rap Racing and Starlight Racing, began racing as Kueber Racing in 2019, with his son, Luke, a former employee with Cox, serving as racing manager. Coach and another talented filly, Emro , notched initial stakes victories for Kueber Racing in 2020.

"Horses like Coach bring you a lot of joy when they exceed expectations like she did," Kueber said. "She's been nothing but wonderful to us."
