With heavy rain in the forecast, Santa Anita Park has announced there will be no live racing on Monday. Santa Anita will instead run Friday, Jan. 20, which was originally scheduled to be an off-day.
Although there is no racing this Saturday and Monday, Santa Anita will be open as planned for live racing this Sunday, with first post time for an eight-race card, consisting of all main track races, at 12:30 p.m. PT.
The $200,000 La Canada Stakes (G3), originally scheduled for Saturday, will now be run this Sunday. The La Canada, for fillies and mares aged 3 and up going a mile and one-sixteenth on the dirt, has been carded as Sunday’s seventh race, with an assigned post time at 3:29 p.m. PT.
With sunny skies forecast next week, Santa Anita will run next Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, with first post time each day at 12:30 p.m. PT.
