The winningest horse in North America in 2022, Built Wright Stables' Beverly Park , began his 2023 season just as he closed his 2022 campaign—with another overpowering starter allowance victory.
Sent to Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races from his Central Kentucky base by trainer Norman "Lynn" Cash, the 6-year-old Munnings bay horse ran to his heavy favoritism, pulling clear for a three-length score after taking command from a stalking position. He ran 6 1/2 furlongs on a sloppy track in 1:20.05 under jockey J.D. Acosta. It was his fourth consecutive victory and pushed his career record at Charles Town to 6-for-8. He paid $2.80.

Beverly Park is now 26-for-48 overall, with 15 of those victories coming in 30 starts last year, showing consistency and durability that made him a fan favorite. He raced across much of the country in West Virginia, Ohio, Louisiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Virginia, Delaware, New Jersey, and Arkansas.
Bred in Kentucky by Ray Hanson and George Gilbert out of the Langfuhr mare Madeira Park , Beverly Park was claimed by Cash in August 2021 for $12,500 at Belterra Park. Having started for as low as a $5,000 claiming tag a start earlier in the summer of 2021, he is eligible for a lower-level starter if eligibility extends to at least July 8, 2021. Fewer starter opportunities are likely to be available to him in the second half of 2023.
