First reported foal by Maryland sire Engage is a filly born Jan. 10 out of the Great Notion mare Stickingtogether

Northview Stallion Station's grade 2 winner Engage   sired his first reported foal when a filly out of the Great Notion   winner Stickingtogether was born Jan. 10 at Sycamore Hall Farm.

Bred by Sycamore Hall Thoroughbreds, the filly is the first foal out of Stickingtogether, who is out of grade 2 winner Who Did It and Run  and a half sister to graded-placed stakes winner Giant Run  (Giant's Causeway) and stakes winner American Victory  (Victory Gallop).

"At this point, we're encouraged because they are nicely conformed and have good balance," said David Wade, general manager of Northview.

The strategy behind the mating between Engage and Stickingtogether is a doubling down of what has already proved extraordinarily successful with leading sire Into Mischief—crosses with the Gone West broodmare sire line.

Engage is an 8-year-old son of Into Mischief   out of the stakes-placed Speightstown   winner Nefertiti. The cross of Into Mischief with Speightstown daughters also has produced grade 1 winners Mia Mischief  and Mischevious Alex . Also, multiple grade 1 winner and 2020 Horse of the Year Authentic   is by Into Mischief out of the Mr. Greeley winner Flawless. Both Speightstown and Mr. Greeley are sons of Gone West.

"What we see with this foal is a doubling of Gone West," said Wade, noting that Northview's Great Notion is a Gone West grandson. The Engage filly is inbred 4x4 to Gone West.

Engage stands at Northview for $5,000.
