Rushie's first reported foal is a filly born Jan. 31 out of Julia's Pride

Blue Star Racing's graded 1-placed, grade 2 winner Rushie   sired his first reported foal Jan. 31 when a filly out of the Proud Citizen mare Julia's Pride was born in Florida.

Bred by Jay Goodwin, Susan Montanye, and Andy Pickerell, the filly is the second foal produced by Julia's Pride. The mare is out of the multiple stakes-placed Langfuhr mare Lucy Valentine, who is a half sister to grade 2-placed stakes winner Zada Belle .

"We couldn't be more pleased to congratulate the breeders on a really spectacular Rushie filly. She looks to have his powerful shoulder and plenty of leg, which is exactly what we were hoping Rushie would pass along to his progeny," said Dex Comardelle of Blue Star Racing. "This is a great start to the season."

Florida-bred Rushie began his stallion career at Pleasant Acres Stallions in 2022 and is now at Blue Star Racing near Scott, La. He stands for $4,000 with a live foal guarantee.

From the first crop of top five fourth-crop sire of 2022 Liam's Map  , Rushie broke his maiden at 3 by a length at Santa Anita Park. He finished third in the Santa Anita Derby (G1) and Blue Grass Stakes (G2) on his way to a victory in the Pat Day Mile Stakes (G2). He was retired with a 3-2-3 record from 15 starts and earned $697,941.
