The Sweetontheladies colt out of the More Than Ready mare Intermission
Multiple stakes-winning sprinter Sweetontheladies was represented by his first foal with a colt born Jan. 23.
The newborn is the fourth foal produced from the More Than Ready mare Intermission , who comes from the family of millionaire and grade 1 winner Winchester as well as multiple graded stakes winner Middleburg . The Virginia-bred mare has begat three foals to race, one of which is a winner.
Sweetontheladies is an 8-year-old son of Twirling Candy —Whataclassybroad , by Yankee Gentleman . Showing speed and precocity from an early age, Sweetontheladies won his first two races and captured the Juvenile Sprint Stakes at Gulfstream Park West in his fourth start. Racing mainly on the Southern Florida circuit, Sweetontheladies went on to take the Crystal River Handicap at Gulfstream Park as a 3-year-old before campaigning through the age of 6. He earned grade 1 black type in running third in Saratoga Race Course's Alfred G. Vanderbilt Stakes (G1) in 2018 in addition to graded stakes showings in the 2018 Smile Sprint Stakes (G3), two editions of the Gulfstream Park Sprint Stakes (G3) in 2018-19, and the 2018 Frank J. De Francis Memorial Dash Stakes (G3).
He retired in 2021 with a record of 4-5-6 from 31 trips to the post and earnings of $408,012.
Sweetontheladies stands the 2023 breeding season for an advertised fee of $2,500 at Pleasant Acres Stallions in Morriston, Fla.
