Longtime New Jersey Breeder Fleming Dies at 84

Mildred "Millie" Fleming, a longtime New Jersey breeder and past president of the Thoroughbred Breeders' Association of New Jersey, died Feb. 4. She was 84.

Mildred was well known throughout the equine industry in New Jersey. She bred Thoroughbred Horses for almost 50 years and was the 2022 recipient of the Virgil "Buddy" Raines Award. She served two terms as the President of the Thoroughbred Breeders' Association of New Jersey and also served as a board member prior to her terms as president. She shared her passion for Thoroughbreds with her husband, Larry, and bred and raced exclusively NJ-bred horses.
