Angel of Empire Soars to Fifth in NTRA 3-Year-Old Poll

Angel Of Empire wins the Risen Star Stakes at Fair Grounds
Following an upset win in the Feb. 18 Risen Star Stakes (G2) at Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots, Angel of Empire advanced into fifth place in the latest National Thoroughbred Racing Association Top 3-Year-Old Poll. The Brad Cox trainee, owned by Albaugh Family Stables, had been unranked previously.
Forte , Arabian Knight , Instant Coffee , and Cave Rock are ranked first through fourth in the poll.
Pegasus World Cup Invitational Stakes (G1) winner Art Collector continues to lead the NTRA's Top Thoroughbred Poll, followed by Taiba and Country Grammer , who are both race in the upcoming Feb. 25 Saudi Cup (G1) in the Middle East.
The two polls cover racing racing performances through Feb. 20, with voting conducted by national media. More information is available online.
The 3-Year-Old poll represents horses competing up and through the Triple Crown.
The Top Thoroughbred poll represents horses competing for Horse of the Year. The Top Thoroughbred Poll concludes Tuesday, Nov. 7, following the Breeders' Cup World Championships.
Rankings on both polls are on a 10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-1 basis with first-place votes in parentheses, 2023 record, and total points. A-S: Age-Sex, Sex: C-colt, G-gelding, H-horse, F-filly, M-mare, R-ridgling.
