Loves Only You and her 2023 Epiphaneia colt
Multiple grade 1 winner and 2021 Champion Turf Female Loves Only You gave birth to her first foal in Japan, owner DMM Dream Club announced Feb. 27 on Twitter.

The foal is a colt by Shadai Stallion Station's Epiphaneia , the 2014 Japan Cup (G1) victor and an earner of more than $6 million who has sired Japanese grade 1 winners Daring Tact , Efforia (JPN), and Circle of Life. He stood the 2022 season for ¥18,000,000 (US$131,997).
Loves Only You, a 7-year-old daughter of Deep Impact bred by Northern Farm in Japan, was purchased by DMM from her breeder at the 2017 Japan Racing Association Sale of Yearlings and Weanlings for a whopping $1,404,800. Out of the Storm Cat mare Loves Only Me, she is a full sister to stakes-winning millionaires Langley and Prodigal Son, along with multiple graded stakes winner and earner of more than $7 million, Real Steel .
Under the tutelage of trainer Yoshito Yahagi, the mare tasted grade 1 victory in only her fourth start when winning the 2019 Japanese Oaks (G1). Her other successes in graded company include the Kyoto Kinen (G2), Queen Elizabeth II Cup (G1), Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Turf (G1T), and the Hong Kong Cup (G1)—all in 2021.
She retired in 2022 as an Eclipse Award winner with a record of 8-2-3 from 16 starts and earnings of $8,686,188.
