

Rockridge Stud's grade 1-placed, grade 2 winner Frank Conversation sired his first winner March 3 when his son Incantation found success in his third career start at Aqueduct Racetrack.
The chestnut 3-year-old homebred for Don Manuchia's Ascendant Farms won a $43,000 maiden claimer going one mile on the main track. Incantation, under Jaime Torres, took the lead after an opening half in :46.78 and prevailed in a stretch duel with Midnight Express to win by 1 1/2 lengths. The final time was 1:39.73. The colt is trained by James Bond.
Incantation is the third foal out of the Lawyer Ron mare Strange Magic, who is also the dam of New York Stallion Stakes and New York Oaks winner Galaxina (Giant Surprise ). Strange Magic is out of Lokoya Red, who is a half sister to champion grass mare and Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Turf (G1T) winner Forever Together . Manuchia bred Strange Magic and bred and raced Galaxina. Strange Magic is expecting a foal by Maximus Mischief this year.
Frank Conversation is a 10-year-old son of Quality Road out of the stakes-placed Unusual Heat daughter Rushen Heat. He won or placed in seven graded stakes, which included wins in the Twilight Derby (G2T) and El Camino Real Derby (G3), and a third in the Hollywood Derby (G1T). He was retired with a 4-2-4 record from 19 starts and earned $520,965.
