The Frosted colt cataloged as Hip 247 breezes an eighth in :9 4/5 during Day 2 of the OBS March Under Tack Show

The second day of under tack shows for the Ocala Breeders' Sales Company March Sale of 2-Year-Olds in Training concluded March 15 with four horses clocking an eighth of a mile in :9 4/5 to have the fastest time of the day at the distance. The day started at a balmy 47 degrees but finished around 64 degrees with plenty of sunshine.

Those bullet furlong workers include:

  • Hip 247, the Frosted   colt consigned by Grade One Investments, agent, is out of Ananda, by Scat Daddy. The unraced mare is a full sister to three-time grade 3 winner Daddy Nose Best . Bred in New York by Jeff Treadway, the colt was sold to Ford Fugate, agent, at the Keeneland September Sale last year for $50,000.
  • Hip 312, Mitole Magic, by Mitole  , consigned by S B M Training and Sales, agent. The dark bay or brown filly is from the first crop by her U.S. champion sprinter sire. The filly is out of the winning Bernstein mare Blake's Magic , sister to 2004 Canadian champion older horse Mobil  , a grade 3 winner of over $1.8 million on both surfaces and previous leading sire in Ohio. Bred in Kentucky by the Stone Bridge Investments Syndicate, she was initially sold as a weanling at The November Sale at Fasig-Tipton for $80,000 to Finistrerre Racing.
  • Hip 342, the fast filly by Brethren   consigned by Goldencents Thoroughbreds, comes from the impressive family of grade 1 winner and sire Premium Tap  and stakes winner Red Rally , winner of the Louisiana Champions Day Juvenile Stakes. The January-born filly was bred in Florida by Greysoil Pastrana and is making her first foray into the sales ring.
  • Hip 392, the son of War Front consigned by King's Equine, agent, is out of stakes-placed Corps de Ballet , by Speightstown  . The Kentucky-bred, by Pollock Farm and Hugh Owen, comes from the family of French import and stakes winner Private Banking .

A Bucchero   colt consigned by Tom McCrocklin, agent, as Hip 406, turned in the fastest quarter-mile work in :20 3/5. The February colt was bred in Florida by Craig Wheeler and is a half sibling to 2021 FTBOA Florida Sire Desert Vixen Stakes winner My Sassenach . First dam Cynthia's Fury , by Utopia , is half sibling to stakes winner R Angel Katelyn .
