With heavy rain and the likelihood of more than three inches of precipitation at Santa Anita Park through March 22, track officials, in consultation with the CHRB, TOC, Jockeys' Guild, and the CTT, have opted to cancel the eight-race program March 24. The track will take entries March 23 for a make-up day of racing March 27.
Along with entries for Monday, entries will also be taken as scheduled initially on Thursday for the March 26 card at Santa Anita.
"By running on Monday instead of Friday, we're going to allow both the main track and our turf course an extra day to dry out before we run on Saturday," Santa Anita director of racing and racing secretary Jason Egan said. "This will also enable us to run on the grass all three days, and it will give horses a chance to return to training prior to racing this weekend."
Entries for racing March 25 will be taken Wednesday.
