The numbers just kept climbing up as bidding intensified between trainer Steve Asmussen and agent Donato Lanni alongside trainer Bob Baffert on Day 2 of the Ocala Breeders' Sales March 2-Year-Olds in Training Sale with all eyes of Hip 546, a Good Magic colt consigned by Top Line Sales. At the end of the bidding, the hammer was dropped at $2 million with Lanni signing the ticket for Amr Zedan's Zedan Racing Stables to top the sale thus far.
The colt was bred by Don Alberto in Kentucky out of the Uncle Mo mare Hoppa. Top Line purchased the colt for $190,000 as Bishop Bloodstock, a family entity, from the Hill 'n' Dale Sales Agency's consignment to the 2022 Keeneland September Yearling Sale.
Hip 546 was one of two colts to work an eighth-mile co-fastest time of :9 3/5 during the under tack show.
