The countdown to the Belmont Stakes has begun and the anticipation is growing amongst everyday fans as well casual fans. Why is that? Because we have another chance at history with the Triple Crown on the line on June 6 at Belmont Park. This time around we have the talented American Pharoah trying to stamp his name into the history books.
So the day is approaching and you already have your tickets and your day planned out. Now let’s take a look at some outfit inspiration depending on where you plan to spend your day as you hope to witness history. Or will you be one of the folks trying to cash a winner with a longshot and upset the favorite?
Turf Club:
Belmont Park is a spacious facility with plenty of seating options and some of the best locations include the Turf and Field Club, North Shore Terrace, Garden Terrace and the Trophy Room, among others. If this is your location, then you will be spending most of your day under a roof so a nice suit is the way to go. A well-fitted dark suit paired with the right accessories never goes out of style. Details like a print shirt, a pop of color on the pocket square, a nice tie, your favorite watch, and a lapel pin are great ways to complete the look.

Clubhouse:
In addition to easy access to box seats and reserved seating, it’s also easy to walk out to the paddock area from the clubhouse side. Given that you might do a bit more walking throughout the day, a balance of comfort and style is the key. A light blazer, versatile pants, and comfortable loafers are a good option.

Grandstand:
If having a picnic in the Belmont backyard, walking to the paddock, checking out the food trucks, and going out the apron is in your plans, then comfort is your main priority. This might include sneakers, shorts, jeans, a polo, a T-shirt, and/or a baseball cap for shield from the sun. A polo shirt with your favorite jeans and a pair of classic sneakers like the Converse All-Stars or the Vans Old Skool might be your lucky outfit to cash a winning bet.
