Jockey Jose Lezcano was taken to Jamaica Hospital in Queens, N.Y. with a possible wrist injury after a frightening spill April 8 in the second race at Aqueduct Racetrack.

Lezcano was in midpack with Autumn  in the six-furlong turf race when Central Speed , under jockey Jamie Torres, ducked in sharply after coming under a right-handed crop, causing a chain reaction that saw Autumn stumble and fall and Lady Laoban  and jockey Manny Franco tumble over her.

Both horses crashed through the inner rail. They ran off after the spill, though Lady Laoban was vanned back to the barn area.

Franco came away with no apparent injuries.

Central Speed was disqualified and placed last.

Lezcano was scheduled to ride Arctic Arrogance  later in the day in the $750,000 Wood Memorial Stakes (G2). In his place, Jorge Vargas Jr. will have the mount on the 6-1 co-third choice in the morning line.
