Danse Macabre after winning the Herecomesthebride Stakes at Gulfstream Park

NBS Stable and Elements Racing's Danse Macabre , winner of the March 4 Herecomesthebride Stakes (G3T) going a mile at Gulfstream Park in her most recent start, heads a field of 12 3-year-old fillies in the April 14 running of the $250,000 Limestone Stakes going 5 1/2 furlongs on the turf.

Trained by Kelsey Danner, Danse Macabre owns a record of 3-1-1 from five turf starts that also includes a victory in the Untapable Stakes in September at Kentucky Downs. Adam Beschizza has the mount Friday.

Figuring to draw plenty of attention is Stonestreet Stables' Love Reigns , winner of the Bolton Landing Stakes in August at Saratoga Race Course and the favorite against males in last fall's Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint (G1T). Trained by Wesley Ward, who won last year's Limestone with Ruthin , Love Reigns will be making her first start since finishing eighth in that Breeders' Cup test at Keeneland. Joel Rosario will ride.

Also making her sophomore debut is a separate Ward entrant, Lady Hollywood , unraced since out finishing her stablemate for fifth in the Juvenile Turf Sprint.

Another returning from the Juvenile Turf Sprint and making her 2023 debut is KatieRich Stables' American Apple . Winner of the Matron Stakes (G3T) prior to the Breeders' Cup, in which she finished sixth, American Apple is trained by Daniel Leitch and will be ridden by Gerardo Corrales.
