Spendthrift Farm's Beholder recorded her first timed workout May 21 at Santa Anita Park, after an illness forced her to sit out the May 9 Vanity Stakes (gr. I).
The 5-year-old daughter of Henny Hughes breezed five furlongs in 1:01 flat under David Neusch, the 10th-fastest time of 25 moves at that distance Thursday morning.

"It was a very nice work," trainer Richard Mandella said of the two-time Eclipse Award winner. "She wanted to do more."
Mandella said he plans to run Beholder next in the $100,000 Adoration Stakes (gr. III) June 13 at Santa Anita.
