Description:

With American Pharoah attempting to be coronated as the 12th Triple Crown winner in history in the June 6 Belmont Stakes, you may be planning on attending the Test of the Champion in Elmont, N.Y. However, if you’re like me, you love to look your best at the races without spending all of your hard-earned cash on clothes. Therefore I’ve put together a few looks that are perfect for the third leg of the Triple Crown that will leave you with plenty of betting money in the bank!

If you’re an American Pharoah fan, a great way to show your support is to incorporate the colors of his silks (aka the jockey’s shirt) into your outfit. I love this turquoise shift ($20, Pink Queen), and I paired it with a chic-yet-comfortable pair of lemon yellow wedges for $31 from Zoo Shoo. The yellow fascinator is $40 from ModCloth, and I love this studded and striped handbag from She Inside for $32. Add a pair of black pearl studs ($28, Ralph Lauren,) a killer set of shades for $11 from Retro City Sunglasses and this silver cuff for $13 from Shop Akira; and you’re ready for the Belmont Stakes for a grand total of $175!

I love wearing a scarf at the races – they add so much old-school glamour! This black, red and white version is $34 from Chairish.com. The colorblock dress is $36 from Xclusive, the 9West pumps are $50 and the handbag is $25 from She Inside. The earrings are $9.50 from Icing, the $8.90 sunglasses come from Windsor Store, and you can top everything off with this fabulous wide-brimmed hat for $34 via Amazon.com. All in all, this look prices out at $197.40.

Crop tops and skirts are a very trendy but perfectly sophisticated look to rock at the track; I combined this pencil skirt for $16 from BooHoo.com and this keyhole crop top for $24 from Black Five. The bow handbag is $34 from Windsor Store, and the retro-inspired mary janes are $33 from Zoo Shoo. Throw on a pair of Vince Camuto shades for $19, a fascinator from Simply Be for $50 and this amazing statement ring ($14, TopShop) and you’re off to the races for just $190!

What better way to celebrate summer than a crisp white dress? I love this version for $33 from Walk Trendy. Keep your feet happy in these $50 flat sandals from Steve Madden, then add this leather handbag for $50 by Sole Society. The floppy hat is just $15 from Forever21, the earrings are $45 from R. J. Graziano and the bracelet is $35 from Icing. All together, this look comes to $228 from top to toes.

Our final look is so divinely retro – I may need to purchase this amazing tea-length scarlet dress for $40 from Choies. If you really want to commit, you can add this petticoat for just $9.74 via Amazon.com! I totally would. The T-strap pumps are $38 from ShoeBuy, and the handbag is $50 from Black Five. A pair of faux-pearl earrings is perfect, and these are just $6 from Maurice’s. I found this organza fascinator on Amazon.com for $40, and finished everything off with these amazing sunglasses for $30 from Necessary Clothing.  Just $163.74 gets you the complete ensemble – and leaves you plenty of cash for a bet or a cocktail at the races!
I hope you have fun watching the Belmont Stakes whatever your fashion plans are for the day, and I hope to see you at the races soon!
