Kentucky Oaks (G1) contender And Tell Me Nolies dumped her rider while exiting the Churchill Downs track May 4, but is OK according to her trainer Peter Miller.
"She just got real happy and reared up and luckily she didn't go down or anything," Miller said. "So she's OK, seems OK."
Following the siren sounding when Kentucky Derby (G1) entrant Verifying dislodged his rider, And Tell Me Nolies was pulled up at the gap waiting to exit when she took off. Dragging her rider for several feet, the Arrogate filly made a run through the barn area, dodging people and vehicles before making her way back to her barn.
Miller said that he plans to jog And Tell Me Nolies later Thursday, but unless something reveals itself later, she is set for the Oaks.
And Tell Me Nolies is owned by Peter Redekop B. C. and was bred in Kentucky by Lara Run. Out of the Exchange Rate mare Be Fair , And Tell Me Nolies qualified for the Oaks with second-place finishes in the Santa Anita Oaks (G2) and the Santa Ysabel Stakes (G3), both at Santa Anita Park.
For her career, she is 3-2-0 from seven starts with $472,800 in earnings. And Tell Me Nolies ran eighth in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1) at Keeneland. She won her only other grade 1 contest, the Del Mar Debutante Stakes (G1), two months prior.
