Kentucky Derby (G1) winner Mage and Churchill Downs Stakes (G1) winner Cody's Wish joined the Longines World's Best Racehorse Rankings at 119 after their performances May 6 at Churchill Downs.
Hong Kong-based Lucky Sweynesse (NZ), who is undefeated in five starts this year, has moved into the co-third position in the third edition of the Longines World's Best Racehorse Rankings for 2023. The 5-year-old by Sweynesse (AUS) improved his rating to 124 from 123 with his 3 1/4-length victory in the Chairman's Sprint Prize (G1).
Art Collector , a 6-year-old son of Bernardini, is the highest-ranked United States-based runner among the top 12. The winner of the Pegasus World Cup Invitational (G1) and runner-up most recently in the May 5 Alysheba Stakes (G2) is rated at 121 and co-ranked in ninth place.
A quintet of horses received a rating of 120 in the past month, including Schweppes All Aged Stakes (G1) Giga Kick (AUS); Prix Ganay (G1) winner Iresine (FR); Mutasaabeq (GB), who won the bet365 Mile (G2); Sol Oriens (JPN), winner of the Satsuki Sho (Japanese Two Thousand Guineas) (G1); and, Up to the Mark [120], who won the Turf Classic Stakes (G1) by 3 3/4 lengths on the Kentucky Derby undercard.
