The Arrogate filly consigned as Hip 552 breezes an eighth-mile in :10 during the under tack show

The final session of the Fasig-Tipton Midlantic May 2-Year-Olds in Training Sale under tack show May 18 concluded with the Hartley/De Renzo Thoroughbreds, agent, consigned Arrogate filly blitzing a furlong bullet in :10 Thursday. A colt from the first crop of Catalina Cruiser   laid down the fastest quarter-mile move in :21 2/5.

The chestnut filly, consigned as Hip 552 by the late Arrogate, floated over the dirt surface in an easy :10 to be the fastest time of the final session. The half sibling to stakes winner Twixy Roll  is out of the winning Mutakddim mare Twixy . Bred in Kentucky by Dale Taylor, she sold last year during the Keeneland September Yearling Sale for $255,000 to her consignor from the Paramount Sales draft.

The filly's 3-year-old American Pharoah   brother, American Outlaw, is campaigned by Dale F. Taylor Racing with trainer Todd Fincher and currently sits on a record of 1-2-0 in seven starts. Further down the page, under the second dam, is Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile (G1) winner and millionaire earner Caleb's Posse  . The two-time grade 1 winner is currently standing stud at River Oaks Farms in Oklahoma.

The second-fastest eighth-mile breeze in :10 1/5 was achieved by seven juveniles during the final session.

The LG, agent, consigned colt, Hip 568, from the first crop of Catalina Cruiser, turned in the fastest quarter-mile, stopping the clock in :21 2/5. Hartmut H. Malluche and Silesia Farm bred the chestnut in Kentucky out of the winner Wicked Speed , by Macho Uno. The colt's American Freedom   4-year-old sister, Freedom Speaks , is a stakes winner on the turf and stakes-placed on the dirt.

The colt heralds from the family of 2008 Canadian Horse of the Year and champion sprinter Fatal Bullet  and grade 3-placed Safe Conduct . Next week will be the third trip through the sales ring for the colt, who sold as a yearling in September to Gina Fennell for $70,000. LG sent the juvenile through the ring during the March Sale of 2-Year-Olds in Training at Ocala Breeders' Sales, but he failed to meet his reserve—RNAing at $85,000.

The second-fastest recorded quarter-mile in :22 was achieved by Hip 549, the Classic Bloodstock, agent, consigned Flashback  filly. Bred in Pennsylvania by Equivine Farm, she sold for her breeder last year at the Fasig-Tipton Midlantic Fall Yearling Sale to Classic for Moreno and Elicier at $14,000.

The two-session sale begins May 22 at 11 a.m. ET and concludes May 23. As of Thursday afternoon, 111 horses had been withdrawn from the catalog of 603 horses.
