Winchell Thoroughbreds’ Eclipse Award-winner Untapable remains on track for the June 6 $1 million Ogden Phipps Stakes (gr. I) at Belmont Park after working five furlongs in 1:00.84 at Belmont Park.
The 2014 champion 3-year-old filly trained by Steve Asmussen posted the third-fastest work of the day among nine working the distance.
Untapable, whose last Belmont appearance came when she won the Mother Goose Stakes (gr. I) at 1 1/16 miles en route to her championship season, has made two starts this season. She began her 2015 campaign finishing second in the Azeri Stakes (gr. II) at Oaklawn Park on March 14, and then won the Apple Blossom Handicap (gr. I) at the same track.
Expected to face Untapable in the Ogden Phipps are Dame Dorothy, Sheer Drama, Sweet Reason and Wedding Toast. Rosalind is also possible.
Asmussen-trained 3-year-old filly Shook Up continued to prep for the $750,000 Acorn (gr. I) for owner Regis Racing, working May 25 in 1:00.54 for five furlongs. The daughter of Tapit last out finished second in the Longines Kentucky Oaks (gr. I) on May 1.
Likely to face Shook Up in the Acorn are undefeated filly Promise Me Silver, Luminance, Birdatthewire, Condo Commando, Bar of Gold, Curalina and Danzatrice.
