Cody's Wish wins the Metropolitan Handicap at Belmont Park

Week 21 of the National Thoroughbred Racing Association's Top Thoroughbred poll remains unchanged as Cody's Wish  maintains a commanding lead. He is joined by two other offspring of Curlin   in the top three.

With two impressive victories to start the year—the Metropolitan Handicap (G1) and Churchill Downs Stakes (G1)—he appears headed for a date with the Breeders' Cup Nov. 3-4 at Santa Anita Park.

Cody's Wish did lose three first-place votes, but with 29 and 334 points, sits comfortably ahead of second-place Elite Power .

Elite Power (293 points) is undefeated in his two starts. He held firm to his five first-place votes. His last time out in the True North Stakes (G2) at Belmont Park, Elite Power established his career-best Equibase Speed Figure (112).

Clairiere , the first mare on the list and a daughter of Curlin, holds tight in third. She began the year with a second in the Azeri Stakes (G2) but followed up with a pair of triumphs in the Apple Blossom Handicap (G1) and the Ogden Phipps Stakes (G1). She has 237 points.
