Omaha Beach is one of three freshman sires with three winners as of June 20

Darby Dan Farm's freshman sire Flameaway   became the sixth member of his stallion class to have multiple winners as of June 19 when his daughter My Heart's On Fire  won her debut by 1 1/2 lengths at Prairie Meadows.

My Heart's On Fire, owned by Dick Clark and Otto Farms and trained by Clark, stopped the timer in :53.68 under jockey Glenn Corbett. Bred in Iowa by Minnehan Ag, My Heart's On Fire is out of the A.P. Indy mare My Heart's Love.

Three North American freshman sires, all standing at Spendthrift Farm, lead the class as of June 20 with three winners apiece: Maximus Mischief  , Omaha Beach  , and Vino Rosso  .

Two others alongside Flameaway have two winners: Spendthrift's Mitole   and Ocean Breeze Ranch's Pavel . Mitole leads the class by progeny earnings to date with $162,348 and is tied with Maximus Mischief for the most starters with 11.

Omaha Beach, Vino Rosso, and Pavel have sired the only black-type performers so far.

Omaha Beach's daughter Launch , a $50,000 Keeneland September Yearling Sale purchase by agent Michael Wilson on behalf of Robson Aguiar, ran third May 21 in the Irish E.B.F. Fillies Sprint Stakes (G3) at Naas. Launch has not visited the winner's circle yet, getting a second in her debut May 5 at Cork Racecourse. Omaha Beach's winners are Cynane , Easy Red , and Omaha Girl .

Vino Rosso's New York-bred son Zaino, a $20,000 purchase at Fasig-Tipton's New York Bred Yearlings Sale by EAC Training and Sales, has not won but finished third in the Royal Palm Juvenile Stakes on the turf at Gulfstream Park. Vino Rosso's winners are The Wine Steward , Laugh Now , and Khatazhukai.

Refocus, a J. Paul Reddam homebred son of Pavel, won his debut May 21 at Santa Anita Park and followed with a third in the Fasig-Tipton Futurity June 17. Pavel has one other winner in Reddam homebred and stablemate Recalcitrant . Both winners are trained by Doug O'Neill.

Along with these six stallions, four others round out the top 10 leading freshman sires by progeny earnings to date. They include Spendthrift's sixth-ranked Coal Front   ($86,750), Hill 'n' Dale Farms at Xalapa's seventh-ranked World of Trouble   ($78,007), Darby Dan's ninth-ranked Copper Bullet   ($68,976), and Lane's End's 10th-ranked Catalina Cruiser   ($60,967). Each of these four has sired his first winner.
