Lady Jacqueline Features Familiar Faces

The top three finishers of the May 19 Allaire du Pont Distaff Stakes reprise their rivalry in the June 24 $250,000 Lady Jacqueline Stakes at JACK Thistledown. Separated by a length at the finish, it was Flurry Racing Stables' Interstatedaydream  who prevailed in the three-way charge to the wire. The 4-year-old daughter of Classic Empire  , accompanied by her consistent companion Florent Geroux, lines up as the tentative 7-2 favorite in the 1 1/8-mile contest for older fillies and mares.

Twice a graded stakes winner as a sophomore in the George E. Mitchell Black-Eyed Susan Stakes (G2) and Indiana Oaks (G3) for trainer Brad Cox, Interstatedaydream then went winless in three starts ahead of her du Pont Distaff victory. Leading throughout in that effort, she figures to be a pace player early in this spot as well, although should face some considerable pressure from Kim Puhl trainee Secret Fix , a blowout winner of an allowance race here May 22.

The second- and third-place finishers from the du Pont, Misty Veil  and Le Da Vida , will be seeking to turn the tables on Interstatedaydream. The former ran a career-best 105 Equibase Speed Figure in that race, though she's only won once in five starts since being claimed by trainer Mike Maker last November.

Le Da Vida, from the barn of Ignacio Correas, ran a sneaky-good third last time and perhaps could've been even closer to the top two had she switched leads in the lane. A multiple stakes winner in her native Chile, look for her to be running late.
