America’s Best Racing and DerbyJackpot team up to provide horseplayers with their best bets of the weekend in a regular feature blog that will run on Fridays.
Each week, one of our crack handicappers - Jose Contreras, Dan Tordjman, Victoria Garofalo or Cory Moelis – will provide at least one “Best Bet” of the weekend, ideal for a win bet.
The post also will include some combination of additional bets for the weekend.
For some posts, our handicappers will try to identify a longshot play of the weekend, a nice opportunity to swing for the fences on a win bet or to take a shot with a show bet.
Our handicappers also will look for strong exacta plays for the weekend or occasionally try to spot a nice opportunity to bet a trifecta or superfecta.
Place your bets at DerbyJackpot. It's the easiest and most fun online horse betting site out there. Races open for betting about five minutes before post time. Place your bets and you can walk away with some extra cash in your pocket.

Best Bet (Win Bet/Monkey Bet)
Belmont Park, Race 3, 2:22 p.m. ET
#1 Tiz Afleet: Tried the turf for the first time and showed good tracking speed when racing midpack early in the race before tiring late. What I like today is that he’s facing an easier group and he’s making his second start on this course. He might be able to dictate the pace with his inside position. Let’s hope we get the morning-line odds of 5-to-1.
Best Bet (Win Bet/Monkey Bet)
Belmont Park, Race 9, The $200,000 Pennine Ridge Stakes, 5:28 p.m. ET
#5 World Approval: This 3-year-old gelding has improved in every turf start and finished a very good third behind fellow entrant Divisidero in his latest race when closing from the back of the pack. He had to go wide in that race because of the big field of 13 runners. This time around is a field of seven, and he might be able to turn the tables on Divisidero if he can get an early jump around the turn. His morning-line odds of 6-to-1 offer a solid price.

Best Bet (Win Bet/Monkey Bet)
Belmont Park, Race 3, 2:22 p.m. ET
#1 Rock Me Mama: She was clamied for $25,000 three starts ago and immediately was thrown into a $78,000 stakes race and finished a good second. Rock Me Mama's latest effort was on this same turf course and at this same distance when finishing third at odds of 18.20-to-1. This trainer has good stats when horses make their second start off of a layoff, just like this horse is doing today, and she has attracted the services of top jockey Javier Castellano.
Best Bet (Win Bet/Monkey Bet)
Belmont Park, Race 6, $200,000 Wonder Again Stakes, 3:55 p.m. ET
#4 Miss Chatelaine: She made two starts in 2014 and both of them resulted in victories. She has been given some time off since October and sports a series of steady workouts since early April in preparation for her 2015 debut. This is a tough field, but I feel she has plenty of upside and her price will be solid considering she’s facing undefeated Lady Eli.
