For shoppers at the Fasig-Tipton July Selected Horses of Racing Age Sale July 10, finding a new addition with a recent stakes win won't be a problem.
Hip 470, Power in Numbers , is a 3-year-old Girvin colt who will hit the sales ring in top form having won his last three times out. Most recently, he won the June 25 Tale of the Cat Stakes at Monmouth Park under the tutelage of Chad Brown.
"He's only 3 years old, which I think is very enticing because you don't know how much he can improve, and he's done nothing but improve in every single one of his races," said Liz Crow of ELiTE Sales, the colt's consignor.
"I think he really reminds me of Electability , who we sold at this sale (in 2022). … He went on to win some big races in Saudi and almost $450,000 for his new connections in Saudi."
Crow believes the racing options this year for Power in Numbers are limitless as he could go overseas or be pointed toward races such as the $500,000 West Virginia Derby (G3) and $400,000 Oklahoma Derby (G3).
Another recent winner in ELiTE's consignment is High Front (Hip 414). The 4-year-old gelding by Summer Front has posted back-to-back wins heading into the sale with his most recent the June 21 Dark Star Turf Sprint Stakes. He is trained by Jonathan Thomas.
"It's always important when you have these racehorse sales that you bring horses to the sale in form," Crow said. "And that always gives buyers confidence. … He's really in top form now, running career-best numbers last out."
She said the gelding "looks like a horse you can immediately have action with." Crow mentioned the Troy Stakes (G3T) at Saratoga Race Course and Kentucky Downs Turf Sprint Stakes (G2T) at Kentucky Downs as upcoming races that may be suitable for him.
"He's coming from a good barn. The sky is the limit for him. You can really dream if he could be a top, top turf sprinter," she said.
Taylor Made Sales also brings a pair of recent winners to the sale that includes Movisitor , Hip 455, a 3-year-old colt who is showing versatility attributable to his sire Uncle Mo .
He's already raced in graded stakes company on three occasions, but his experience on different surfaces and a win June 26 in the Crowd Pleaser Stakes at Parx Racing should grab attention.
"We all know that Uncle Mo now can get a horse that can run on turf, dirt, or synthetic. The fact that this horse has shown he can win on the synthetic and has won on the dirt, even on an off track, he has that versatility that Uncle Mo shows," said Taylor Made Thoroughbred adviser Jeff Hayslett.
He added, "Not a whole lot not to like about the horse. He's matured, he's figured out what he's supposed to do. We're excited to present him, that's for sure."
Another Taylor Made consignee is Hip 404 Glenall . The 4-year-old filly is by Coulsty and out of the unraced Fast Company mare Farran.
Glenall has 19 starts to her credit and was triumphant last time out in the Wasted Tears Stakes June 24 at Lone Star Park.
"She ran the best figures she's run. I think this filly has tons of options going forward coast to coast," said Taylor Made president and CEO Mark Taylor. "Everybody's hungry for racehorse prospects and this filly is coming off a really nice race and looks like she's got a bright future in front of her. … She looks ready for a big second half of the year."
Taylor said she's sound, in good form, and has talent, which makes her special.
One other recent stakes winner being offered is Malleymoo (Hip 444), a 3-year-old filly by 2007 champion grass horse English Channel and consigned by Gainesway. Her last start produced a win in the June 2 Penn Oaks at Penn National Race Course.
Trained by Jack Sisterson, Malleymoo went unplaced in a pair of graded stakes to start the year—the Sweetest Chant Stakes (G3T) and Herecomesthebride Stakes (G3T)—before taking a step back to find her winning form.
