Derby Museum to Unveil 'Pharoah' Exhibits

The Kentucky Derby Museum June 5 plans to unveil updates to six exhibits to recognize 2015 Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I) winner American Pharoah.
Using images, video, text, and sound, the exhibits will be revised to reflect American Pharoah's accomplishments as he takes his place in the history books.
Following his Derby triumph, Zayat Stables' homebred son of Pioneerof the Nile won the Xpressbet.com Preakness Stakes (gr. I) May 16 and on June 6 in the Belmont Stakes (gr. I) will bid to become the first horse since 1978 to win the Triple Crown. If his bid is successful, the museum plans several more additions to recognize the historical achievement.
"American Pharoah has captured the public's imagination during the first two legs of the Triple Crown," Museum president Lynn Ashton said. "We know our guests will appreciate the opportunity to relive his achievements time and time again."
Capture the Moment, located inside the Museum's lobby, is dedicated to telling the story of the most recent Kentucky Derby, from the race itself to fans cheering from all locations around Churchill Downs. Through a collage of photos and video, Capture the Moment will symbolize the day surrounding American Pharoah's thrilling Derby victory.
The Winner's Circle on the first floor, near the "It's My Derby" exhibit, will feature a replica Thoroughbred depicting American Pharoah's exact look. The horse will be draped with a garland of red roses, with the odds of the race displayed on a mock tote board.
"The Greatest Race," the 17-minute, 360-degree high-definition show that brings the Kentucky Derby story to life and acts as the centerpiece of the museum's first floor, will be updated to feature video and sound from American Pharoah's win. The Derby Timeline surrounding the Great Hall, which features every Kentucky Derby winner, will display complete race results and other key statistics from the latest edition.
Other items brought up to date include adding the race's telecast and winner's circle interview to the Warner L. Jones Jr. Time Machine on the first floor, so guests can watch at their leisure, while the Multiple Winners exhibit on the second floor near the Downs' First Electric Gate will recognize the achievements of now four-time winning trainer Bob Baffert and three-time winning jockey Victor Espinoza.
All of the exhibits are available with paid general admission during normal business hours, Monday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. EDT and Sunday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
