The catalog for the Ontario Premier Yearling Sale, Aug. 30, is now available online for viewing. This year the sale at the Woodbine Sales Pavilion offers 252 yearlings by both Canadian and United States sires.
Represented sires include Almasty (3), American Guru (2), Ami's Holiday (6), Amis Gizmo (5), Big Screen (9), Carrick (2), Danish Dynaformer (1), Fed Biz (1), Frac Daddy (7), Gamble's Exchange (6), Heart to Heart (1), Higher Power (4), Mohaymen (1), Old Forester (4), Passion for Action (5), Point of Entry (9), Pool Play (1), Prime Attraction (3), Reload (33), Seattle Serenade (13), Shaman Ghost (10), Signature Red (13), Silent Name (9), Society's Chairman (9), Souper Speedy (22), Speightster (2), Tamarkuz (1), and Where's the Ring (2).
During last year's single selling session, 150 yearlings were sold of the 182 offered for a turnover of $2,931,153. An average price of $19,541 and a median of $14,894 was recorded.
A Cairo Prince colt out of Hopping Not Hoping , consigned as Hip 130 by Woodlands, topped the sale after realizing $87,835 from Dr. Robert McMartin, agent.
Al and Bill Ulwelling purchased three individuals for receipts of $122,968, at an average of $40,989 per head, to be the sale's leading buyer. Cara Bloodstock sold 24 of their 26-horse draft for gross figures of $505,621 and an average of $21,068 to be the sale's leading consignor.
