The Tapit colt consigned as Hip 123 was the first yearling to sell for seven figures Aug. 8 at the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Sale

Three hips in during the second night of the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Selected Yearling Sale Aug. 8, bloodstock agent Mike Ryan jump started the evening by going to $1.1 million for a Tapit   colt out of grade 1 winner Paola Queen . The colt, cataloged as Hip 123, was bred in Kentucky by Don Alberto and consigned by Gainesway.

Ryan said he bought the colt for a syndicate that was not identified.

"There are a lot of good horses here tonight, and we knew we were going to stretch on this horse," said Ryan. "That is what it takes for the horses that have stallion potential after they run."
