Zayat Stables has struck a promotional deal with Monster, which produces various energy drinks, with just days to go before American Pharoah bids for the Triple Crown June 6 at Belmont Park.
ESPN.com first reported the deal, financial terms for which weren't disclosed. The website reported that the deal, negotiated by New York-based Leverage Agency, could be one of the largest single-horse sponsorships in history.
ESPN.com reported that Monster will have the right to have its logo on American Pharoah's pre-race cooling blanket, on the hats worn by Zayat family members, and on jockey Victor Espinoza's collar. Also, the company will have its "Monster girls" around the horse.
Leverage Agency also negotiated the SKECHERS deal with the connections of California Chrome before his bid for last year's Triple Crown, ESPN.com reported.
