Fresh off of a win in the Fourstardave Handicap (G1T) at Saratoga Race Course Aug. 12, Casa Creed made a leap of 10 spots in the latest National Thoroughbred Racing Association poll of top Thoroughbreds.
The son of Jimmy Creed began his move from the outside with three furlongs remaining. Cutting into his deficit in upper stretch, Casa Creed and jockey Luis Saez took the lead in the final sixteenth of a mile before pulling away for the three-quarter-length victory.
That's two straight wins for Casa Creed, who took the July 15 Kelso Stakes (G3T) at Saratoga. He enters this week's poll in the eighth spot. The 7-year-old horse is the oldest member of this week's top 10. Previously ranked 18th, Casa Creed has 70 points.
While the top three—Elite Power , Cody's Wish , and Nest —remained unchanged, there was plenty of movement in the ranks to accompany Casa Creed.
White Abarrio and Up To The Mark swapped places, with the former moving up one spot to fourth. In Italian , who hasn't raced since the July 15 Diana Stakes (G1T), moved one spot forward to ninth. West Will Power dropped from ninth and tied with Goodnight Olive , who was 11th, for 10th overall.
Clairiere and Forte maintained their holds on the sixth and seventh spots, respectively.
