Yes I Am Free Looks to Grow Banner Year in Parx Dash

Golden Kernel Racing Stable's Yes I Am Free , heads the field of 10 in the Aug. 22 $100,000 Parx Dash Stakes at Parx Racing.

Yes I Am Free comes in as the 3-1 morning line favorite in the five-furlong turf contest. At 7 years old, 2023 has been the gelding's best year yet earnings-wise. The son of Uncaptured  has earned more than $240,000 in 2023 off of a 3-2-0 mark from six starts.

Trained by Gerald Bennett, the multiple graded stakes winner exits a fourth-place effort in the July 22 Van Clief Stakes at Colonial Downs. Caught late in the Van Clief, the frontrunner will attempt to carry his speed to the wire this time for his fifth stakes score in Tuesday's Dash.

The sprint specialist has run five or five and a half furlongs in all but one of his 29 career starts (2019 Woodbine Stakes), putting Saturday's distance in his wheelhouse. Yes I Am Free sports a 12-4-3 record.

Sharing second choice honors at 5-1 are Boat's a Rockin  and Fore Harp . 

Boat's a Rockin is a 6-year-old Red Rocks  gelding who has finished on the board in each of his four starts this year. Graded stakes-placed over this course last year in the Turf Monster (G3T), the Brandon Kulp trainee enters off a starter optional claimer win Aug. 10 at Colonial.

Fore Harp is looking to show his last race was a fluke. Finishing last among 10 in the Wolf Hill Stakes at Monmouth Park, the Weigelia   gelding hadn't finished worse than fourth since late 2021. Prior to the Wolf Hill, he had back-to-back wins including the July 1 Laurel Dash.
