Four New Members Elected to The Jockey Club

The Jockey Club  announced Aug. 20 the election of four new members:

Barbara Banke is a Thoroughbred owner and breeder based in Healdsburg, Calif., and Lexington, Ky. She is the principal of Stonestreet Farm, which campaigned horses of the year Curlin   (2007, 2008) and Rachel Alexandra (2009). Banke is also the proprietor of Jackson Family Wines.

Bobby Flay, an owner and breeder, is a celebrity chef, restaurateur, and author. Flay owns numerous restaurants and is a host on various Food Network television programs. He is a New York native, a Breeders' Cup member, and a member of the New York Racing Association board of directors. Flay raced 2010 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf winner More Than Real.

Andrew Rosen is the chief executive officer of Helmut Lang and Theory, a clothing company that he co-founded in 1997. Rosen is a long-time owner and breeder whose family's racing business, Star Crown Stable, bred and raced Chief's Crown. He is a New York native.

Bill Thomason is the president and chief executive officer of Keeneland Association. He is a board member of the National Thoroughbred Racing Association, Thoroughbred Racing Associations, Thoroughbred Racing Protective Bureau, and Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance. Prior to joining Keeneland in 2010, Thomason was the financial and administrative manager at Mill Ridge Farm for 28 years.
