A Union Rags colt added to the 2023 Texas Thoroughbred Association Yearling Sale brings the supplemented entries to nine for the sale being held Aug. 28 at Lone Star Park.
The sale has now cataloged 271 yearlings, which include two supplements by prominent Texas sire Bradester and two by the late leading sire My Golden Song. The other supplemented yearlings are by Early Flyer , Airoforce , Cutting Humor , and King Zachary . Both Cutting Humor and King Zachary are being represented by their first yearlings this year. Six of the nine additions have been cataloged as 265-270, while two of the supplements have replaced horses already scratched from the sale. The Union Rags colt consigned by Robert Brewer has been cataloged as Hip 271.
"The additions to the catalog add to our strong regional base already and we're glad to have these additional offerings in our sale," said TTA sales director Foster Bridewell said.
Ten yearlings cataloged are by Valor Farm's Competitive Edge , the current leading Texas sire, who has held the top spot in the state's sires rankings since 2020.
The 2022 edition of this sale offered 211 yearlings, of which 161 sold for a gross of $3,411,000 and averaged $21,186.
