Find Joy First Winner for Sire Drosselmeyer

With the Belmont Stakes Presented by DraftKings (gr. I) coming up this weekend, 2010 Belmont winner Drosselmeyer   picked up his first winner as a sire June 4 when 2-year-old filly Find Joy won the fourth race at Pimlico Race Course .

Winner of the Belmont Stakes and 2011 Breeders' Cup Classic, Drosselmeyer stands for $15,000 at WinStar Farm near Versailles, Ky.

Making her career debut in a field of nine juvenile fillies, Daniela Lynch's Find Joy drew off in the stretch Thursday to win the 4 1/2-furlong maiden race at Pimlico by 4 1/2 lengths. Bred in Kentucky by Eico Stable, Find Joy is out of the winning Southern Halo mare Hurricane Hannah.

Find Joy was a $55,000 purchase in April at the Ocala Breeders' Sales Co.'s spring sale of 2-year-olds in training. She is trained by Cathal Lynch and jockey John Bisono guided her to victory.
