AR Gov. Declares 'American Pharoah Day'

Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson signed a proclamation June 5 declaring Saturday, June 6, "American Pharoah Day" throughout the entire state. 
 
Zayat Stables' homebred American Pharoah won Oaklawn Park's Arkansas Derby (gr. I) and Rebel Stakes (gr. II) this spring en route to winning the Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I) at Churchill Downs and Xpressbet.com Preakness Stakes (gr. I) at Pimlico Race Course. In the proclamation, Governor Hutchinson acknowledges "the national and international attention and immeasurable fame and recognition to Hot Springs and the State of Arkansas" that American Pharoah has brought and urges all citizens join him in "recognizing the positive notoriety American Pharaoh has brought to Arkansas and to cheer him on at the 2015 Belmont Stakes as he competes to win the Triple Crown."
