NYRA Reports Belmont Tickets Sold Out

Description:

The New York Racing Association the night of June 5 announced that all tickets for the Saturday, June 6 running of the Belmont Stakes (gr. I)  have been officially sold out. Fans are specifically advised not to travel to Belmont Park on Saturday without tickets purchased in advance.

NYRA this year implemented a cap of 90,000 for the Belmont, in which American Pharoah will attempt to become the first horse since Affirmed in 1978 to win the Triple Crown.

"Tickets for the Belmont Stakes are officially sold out," stated Christopher Kay, chief executive officer and president of the New York Racing Association.  "For the convenience of fans who have secured Belmont Stakes Day tickets in advance, all those without tickets to the Belmont Stakes should not come out to Belmont Park on Saturday, June 6."

NOVAK: Could American Pharoah Be The One?

Like any other large sporting event, fans are encouraged to arrive early, stay late, and give themselves plenty of time to travel to and from Belmont on Saturday.

The New York Racing Association has worked with local and national media outlets, and purchased advertisements promoting the message that tickets will not be sold at Belmont Park on June 6.  NYRA representatives have been highly visible on television, radio, in print and on the internet conveying this information, and will continue extensively communicating this through numerous channels and platforms.

Large VMS signs located outside and within Belmont Park will have messages announcing that tickets are not available for Saturday's event. Additionally, NYRA is working with the Long Island Railroad to further convey this message to all those planning to board Belmont-bound trains originating in New York Penn Station, and at Jamaica Station. Long Island Rail Road customers holding Belmont Stakes tickets are specifically encouraged to purchase round-trip rail fare in an effort to further expedite their travel to and from Belmont Park on Saturday.

Clear signs will also be visible upon entry to Belmont's parking lots, with parking attendants reminding entrants of this fact. Entrants will also be given an updated map of the facility, which clearly notes all exit points. Should the entrant not have Belmont Stakes Day tickets and desire to exit, they will be able to without financial penalty.

NYRA is also coordinating extensively with Nassau County, New York City, New York State and MTA police, in addition to state and local transportation planners and first responders. All partners have bolstered their allocated resources for this year's Belmont Stakes, and are playing an intimate role in the development of collective traffic management and operational contingency plans.
