Dylan Mouth Stays Perfect in Italy

Description:
Dylan Mouth overwhelmed rivals in the Gran Premio di Milano (Ity-I) June 7 at San Siro, winning by five lengths for his eighth win from as many starts in Italy.

The 4-year-old Irish-bred son of Dylan Thomas posted a fourth consecutive triumph as he crossed the finish line well clear of Pascal Bary's French stakes winner Billabong, who outfinished Dylan Mouth's pacesetting stablemate Celticus by 4 1/2 lengths for second.

Trained by Stefano Botti for Scuderia Effevi, Dylan Mouth covered 2,400 meters (about 1 1/2 miles) under Fabio Branca in 2:26.70 on good turf. The victory was his second at the top level, joining the 2014 Gran Premio del Jockey Club (Ity-I) the same season he captured the Derby Italiano (Ity-II).

Venturing to Royal Ascot last June in his only start outside of Italy, he was a bit too keen and tired to finish eighth in the King Edward VII Stakes (Eng-II).

Dylan Mouth tracked Celticus early in the race, then easily took charge with a quarter-mile to run as Billabong rallied past Celticus in pursuit. Dylan Mouth to strong and ran on to the comfortable win, his ninth from 10 career starts.

Bred by Azienda Agricola Mariano, Dylan Mouth is out of Italian group III winner Cottonmouth, by Noverre.
