The top 10 standings in the National Thoroughbred Racing Association Top Thoroughbred Poll held steady after racing this past week, with Arcangelo continuing to lead over Cody's Wish .
Blue Rose Farm's 3-year-old Arcangelo, winner of the Belmont Stakes (G1) and Travers Stakes (G1), is training at Santa Anita Park with trainer Jena Antonucci in preparation for the Nov. 4 Breeders' Cup Classic (G1).
Godolphin's homebred Cody's Wish is pointed for a return appearance in the Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile (G1), a race he won last year at Keeneland. He scored Oct. 1 in the Vosburgh Stakes (G2) at Aqueduct Racetrack for Hall of Fame trainer Bill Mott, and though he picked up several first-place votes this week, it was not enough to surpass Arcangelo in the Top Thoroughbred Poll. Arcangelo leads 285-278 on points.
Sprinters hold the 3-4 spots in the poll, with Juddmonte's Elite Power in third and the filly Echo Zulu in fourth. White Abarrio , another Breeders' Cup Classic contender, is fifth.
This was the 36th week of national media voting in the Top Thoroughbred Poll. The poll represents horses competing for Horse of the Year, the top prize in North American Thoroughbred racing. The poll concludes Nov. 7 in the days after the Breeders' Cup. The full poll and votes by voter can be found online.
