Breeders' Cup announced June 8 that Calumet Farm in Lexington has been named an official farm partner of Breeders' Cup World Championships.
Calumet joins Claiborne Farm, Coolmore, Lane's End Farm, Three Chimneys Farm, and WinStar Farm as official Breeders' Cup farm partners representing some of the world's leading full-service breeding and racing establishments.
As part of the multi-year agreement, Calumet will receive a fully-integrated media package of television, print, Internet, and onsite exposure surrounding the World Championships and the Breeders' Cup Challenge series of qualifying races, including commercial time in Breeders' Cup Challenge and Breeders' Cup World Championships telecasts. Calumet stallions and progeny will be identified with on-screen graphics during those telecasts in the post parade.
The Breeders' Cup World Championships, with 13 grade 1 races with purses and awards totaling $26 million over two days, will be held at Keeneland Oct. 30-31 and will be televised live on NBC and NBCSN.
"Calumet joins a very prominent group of farm partners who have made a significant commitment to be a part of 2015 Breeders' Cup at Keeneland and for Central Kentucky," Breeders' Cup president Craig Fravel said. "Calumet has enjoyed a rich tradition of remarkable success on the racetrack and in the breeding shed as one of America's most storied Thoroughbred farms. We welcome their expanded participation in this year's Championships."
Calumet, located near Keeneland, said it is looking forward to the partnership.
"Calumet is very excited at the opportunity to partner with one of the top organizations in the Thoroughbred industry," Calumet general manager Eddie Kane said. "We are pleased to join the current farms and sponsors and are looking forward to this year's event in Lexington."
