American Pharoah to Parade at Churchill Downs

Triple Crown winner American Pharoah is scheduled to parade during the June 13 "Downs After Dark" program at Churchill Downs.

Track officials June 9 said the Zayat Stables homebred colt by Pioneerof the Nile   will parade at 8:10 p.m. EDT, about 20 minutes before his connections are presented with an engraved Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I) trophy. American Pharoah won the Derby May 2 at Churchill and went on to take the May 16 Xpressbet.com Preakness Stakes and June 6 Belmont Stakes Presented by Draft Kings (both gr. I).

Churchill officials said the time for American Pharoah's public appearance is subject to change.

The Saturday program, which begins at 6 p.m., features the $500,000 Stephen Foster Handicap Presented by GE (gr. I) for 3-year-olds and up and the $200,000 Fleur de Lis Handicap Presented by Thorntons (gr. II) for fillies and mares. Both events are Breeders' Cup "Win and You're In" races.

Other stakes on the card are the $100,000 Matt Winn Stakes (gr. III) for 3-year-olds and the $100,000 Regret Stakes (gr. IIIT) for 3-year-old fillies.

NBC Sports Network will cover racing from Churchill during a telecast from 8-10 p.m. June 13. Horse Racing Radio Network will air coverage during the same time on Sirius channel 92.
