Racing at Golden Gate Fields

Golden Gate Fields officials announced Oct. 23 that Golden Gate will conduct live racing on a Friday through Sunday basis the week of the 2023 Breeders' Cup World Thoroughbred Championships. First post on Friday, Nov. 3, Saturday, Nov. 4, and Sunday, Nov. 5, will be 1:15 p.m. The Breeders Cup, hosted at Santa Anita Park this year, features five championship races on Friday and nine more on Saturday.

Golden Gate, which has conducted Monday race cards since the beginning of the summer meet in August, will be dark on Monday, Nov. 6. The first Monday race card to be offered in the month of November will be on Nov. 13.

The feature race on Nov. 4 at Golden Gate is the $100,000, grade 3 Golden Gate Handicap (formerly known as the Berkeley). The 1 1/16-mile race for 3-year-olds and up is run on the all-weather Tapeta main track. Along with the live race card at Golden Gate on Saturday, Golden Gate Fields will hold its annual Breeders Cup Watch Party in the turf club. Patrons must purchase tickets to attend the watch party.
