Elite Power wins this year's Alfred G. Vanderbilt Handicap (G1)

Juddmonte Farms' champion sprinter Elite Power   will enter stud next year at $50,000 with a live foal guarantee, the farm announced Oct. 24.

Earlier in the month, Juddmonte announced the 5-year-old son of Curlin   will retire to stud after his final start in the Nov. 4 Breeders' Cup Sprint (G1). A multiple grade 1 winner with an 8-1-1 record from 12 starts, he has earnings of $2,735,711 to date. Bought for $900,000 during the Keeneland September Yearling Sale, Elite Power has won five graded stakes for trainer Bill Mott. Elite Power is out of graded stakes winner Broadway's Alibi, who was runner-up in the Kentucky Oaks (G1). His female family traces back to U.S. champion Eliza.

Juddmonte also announced its multiple grade 1 winner of nearly $2.1 million, Mandaloun  , will stand for $20,000 live foal. The striking son of Into Mischief   was elevated to winner of the 2021 Kentucky Derby (G1) following the disqualification of Medina Spirit. He went on to win the Haskell Invitational Stakes (G1), also by a DQ, and entered stud this year at $25,000.

Mandaloun is out of the multiple graded stakes winner and Empire Maker daughter Brooch, who hails from one of the great families of the English and American stud books, in which every mare but one over 12 generations earned black type.
