Don't Leave Me, who rallied to victory in the Bourbonette Oaks (gr. III) earlier this season at Turfway Park, will try to notch a second graded stakes win in Kentucky when she faces an expected six other 3-year-old fillies in the $100,000 Regret Stakes (gr. IIIT) Saturday, June 13 at Churchill Downs.
After winning the Bourbonette on March 21 for trainer Malcolm Pierce, Pin Oak Stable homebred Don't Leave Me finished a close second in the Selene Stakes (Can-III) at Woodbine, which like the Bourbonette was contested on Polytrack. The Regret would be a third start on turf for the daughter of Lemon Drop Kid after posting one win in her first two grass tries. She leaves the inside under jockey Javier Castellano. All runners carry 118 pounds.
Saturday's field also features Cristina's Journey, who won last year's Pocahontas Stakes (gr. II) on the main track at Churchill for GSN Racing and trainer Dale Romans. The Regret is scheduled to be the first turf try for the daughter of Any Given Saturday, who will attempt to rebound from three off-the-board finishes in graded stakes—a run that started with last year's Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies (gr. I). Miguel Mena rides from post 5.
